S-PLUS User GroupsStatLib StatLib is an electronic archive of over 270 S-PLUS user contributed packages, most containing multiple functions. Many new statistical procedures are made available for general use in this way. The web site is http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/S. This is also independent of StatSci/Insightful, administered out of Carnegie Mellon university. This archive is part of the larger Statlib site, which contains a wide variety of items of interest to statisticians, including meeting notices, datasets, and code. S-news S-news is an email newsgroup of international S and S-PLUS users. S-news receives very few postings from StatSci/Insightful; this is an independent email list administered at Washington University, St. Louis. It is open to anyone, even people who do not have S-PLUS.
Our favorite S-PLUS sites from the Web Modern Applied Statistics with S-PLUS: The de facto "bible" of statistical analysis with S-PLUS. This book by Venables and Ripley provides examples of the many types of analysis you can do with S-PLUS, and the book's website provides on-line complements with examples and information for the latest versions of S-PLUS. Brian Ripley also generously provides Windows ports for a number of third-party packages. Emacs Speaks Statistics: A package for GNU Emacs which provides command-line, editing and transcript support for S-PLUS on Unix and Windows.
