Getting Started

Introductory Tutorial. To familiarize yourself with Insightful Miner 3, see the manual Insightful Miner 3 Getting Started Guide. A printed copy of this manual is included in your Insightful Miner shipment. This manual is also provided as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file that you can access by selecting Getting Started from the main Help menu in Insightful Miner.

Extend Insightful Miner with S-PLUS. By installing the S-PLUS Library for Insightful Miner you add the S-PLUS tab to the Explorer pane. This gives you access to 20 new charting nodes, five new data access and manipulation nodes, and the S-PLUS Script node. Use the S-PLUS Script node to create custom nodes for charting, reporting, data manipulation and predictive modeling.  If you're new to S-PLUS, read more about S-PLUS here.

Need to install the S-PLUS Library for Insightful Miner? If you don't see the S-PLUS tab in the Explorer Pane in the upper-left of the Insightful Miner interface, you need to install the S-PLUS Library. The S-PLUS Library for Insightful Miner is installed from the S-PLUS 6.1 Release 4 CD-ROM. If you didn't receive this CD-ROM, please contact technical support for assistance.
