A training course for new(ish) users of S+

Course Description

The Getting Started course provides users with the knowledge to get the most out of the S+ point/click interface & Command line. Course content includes Introduction to the S+ point/click interface, Visualisation including Trellis Graphics, Data Import/Export, Data Manipulation & Analysis, writing your own simple functions, efficient programming, efficient use of S+ tools, converting R code to S+, avoiding repetitive typing/clicking & file management.

Personal computers are provided and the course presentations are backed up by frequent practical sessions. Fee includes lunch, refreshments and course materials.

Who will Benefit?

All new and relatively new users to S+. This course has largely been developed with input from our customers.  Through experience in providing S+ technical support and using it regularly for data analysis, the presenters have gained insight into the areas where users have the greatest need for knowledge. 

Recommended Prerequisites

No experience in S+ is necessary. The course is not intended as an introductory statistics course. It is recommended that course participants have an elementary knowledge of statistics/data analysis and some familiarity with Windows.
