S-PLUS Server Feature List

Batch Processing. S-PLUS analytics developed on the desktop can be deployed to production as automated batch jobs with S-PLUS Enterprise Server.

Remote Client Access. Multiple S-PLUS developers can share a central server for analytic computations, while displaying the S-PLUS GUI as a client on
their local desktop.

Remote Server Administration. S-PLUS Enterprise Server can be administrated remotely by authorized users via a Web-based interface on Windows® or via a command-line interface on UNIX®/Linux® systems.

Remote Java® API. Develop custom Java-based desktop applications incorporating
S-PLUS computations and graphics without the need to install S-PLUS on the desktop. Client/server communication with the remote S-PLUS Server (for UNIX/Linux) is available through Java RMI.

COM Application Programmer Interface. On the Windows platform, the standard COM/DCOM API is available to integrate S-PLUS Enterprise Server with Windows desktop applications.

Interactive Graphlets®. Create interactive web-based charts providing viewers with the ability to "drill-down" to extract additional information or perform new computations with the remote S-PLUS Enterprise Server.

Web-Publishing Wizard. On the Windows platform, remote S-PLUS developers can create web-based interfaces to S-PLUS analytics via a convenient Analytic Publishing Wizard.

S-PLUS Publishing Client. Users of S-PLUS for Windows can easily publish Web-based interfaces to their applications to a Windows-based S-PLUS server using the convenient S-PLUS Publishing Client.

Excel® Client Interface. Integrate S-PLUS analytics with Excel using the Excel Client Interface. Excel users can apply S-PLUS computations to ranges of data directly from the worksheet, with charts and results returned directly into the worksheet, all without the need to install S-PLUS on the local desktop.

.NET and Web Services Integration. Insightful's Professional Services Division can assist with deployment of S-PLUS analytics using .NET and Web Services frameworks.

Platform Support. S-PLUS 7 Enterprise Server is supported on Microsoft® Windows® Server, Red Hat® Enterprise Linux®, and Sun® Solaris® platforms.
